All summer a giant sign bearing this phrase filled the floor to ceiling windows at 102 Quimby Street. In the heart of downtown Westfield, it teased residents and pedestrian shoppers with this message, and hid the construction inside.
Something very good is finally here - Alan's Orchard. In a prime spot located between a popular sandwich place and an upscale gelato bar is a unique specialty food shop featuring local, organic food, all from the Garden State or within 150 miles from town. Just in time for the autumn harvest and back to school lunch boxes, Alan’s Orchard will celebrate its grand opening on Friday, August 27.
“The idea behind Alan’s Orchard is simple, explains Weinberg. "We sell local sustainably farmed and certified organic produce, responsibly raised free-range poultry and grass-fed beef, local artisanal cheeses and other dairy products, breads, sauces, jams, frozen yogurt with Jersey fresh toppings, and other locally sourced products. Our products are for people who want high quality, better tasting, local, fresh food and are concerned about the health of our planet.
Think of us as a really great farmer’s market, with more convenient hours and a roof overhead!”
